Japanese Garden

The Japanese Garden area is a combination Japanese garden, water garden and bog garden due to the fact that, coming from the coast, Rahn and I seemed to be destined to own some of the only swampland in Watauga County. I tried to follow the five elements and nine points of  The Bagua from the Feng Shui Principles for the Garden. We had two small branches from 2 nearby springs and lots of wet weather springs to deal with. The previous owner made a small pond where the two branches meet. I decided to add waterfall sections leading from the branch into the pond. The pond water circulates more and has attracted a few frogs as you can see on the left. I also brought in pebbles to make a meditation/zen water garden. (In zen gardens sometimes pebbles are used to symbolize water.)
